Searchable Transcription Database

The Anglo Italian Family History Society's extensive database holds a collection of records, photographs and documents which have been crowd-sourced, transcribed and shared over three decades by our experienced and dedicated volunteers.

Some cannot be found online elsewhere, such as our rare copy of the 1939 Guida degli Italiani in Gran Bretagna and transcriptions of baptisms and marriages at St Peter's Church of All Nations (also known as the 'Italian Church') in Clerkenwell, London.
An archive collection of our journal, Italian Roots, is also available to search, read and download.

The Search facility, using keywords, can be accessed in the Members Area of the website.

The 1939 Guida degli Italiani in Gran Bretagna is a rare directory of Italians who were living and working in England, Scotland and Wales at the time of publication.

Its pages of names and addresses, and its many business advertisements and articles, cannot be found online elsewhere.

Once accessed the book can be scrolled through and viewed from beginning to end, using the arrows at the top of the page:

Its articles, advertisements and photographs give an intriguing and informative insight into the interbellum's* zeitgeist.

The Guida also contains biographies of prominent Italian businessmen, artists and politicians who were living and working in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Baptisms and marriages from St Peter's Church of All Nations (known also as the Italian Church) in Clerkenwell, London, were transcribed by a team of experienced volunteers and are available to search and to view on our website.
